Long post Beware, going to try to respond as I read it...
First off...yeah Iso ur dedication to make this server is admirable and we do thank for providing such a server...EM and EM's atmosphere is the best ive ever seen and i really enjoyed my self when i played there....its mostly the family atmosphere and the respect that everyon has to everyone else that made it so special!
Thank you, that has been my goal for the past 6 years or so that I have been running this server. I have seen rough times in the past, and so far have always managed to keep things under control and the gaming enviornment sane and fun.
Thats why we were at a despair when the new ppl came in and made things impossible to even relax and enjoy and i think that after reading only part of the logs u see what we were going thru...and believe me the past 2-3 weeks is nothing comparing to when they started to come....
that was the reason i contacted u in the first place and suggested the co admin thing...to keep things into perspective... and to get back EM peace
I was completely unaware of the problems on the server that led to requesting co-admins, other than hints of some troublemaker that seemed to have been taken care of. I can't fix problems if I'm not aware of them, you guys have to let me know right away when there is something wrong.
So in short Iso, u dont know me or how i do things or how i could or couldnt be a good admin... But u jumped to conclusion from the posts on this forum...i dont blame u of course to arrive at those conclusion...coz the way the posts were going and how they were manipulated...it gave u a bad impression and since u werent there to see thing u thought u understood things right!
No, of course I don't know you, I have to base my opinions on what I see on the server and read on the forums. I did not jump to conclusions, I have said all along that a lot of the EM regulars acted very immaturely in the forums, no matter what the reasons, there is no excuse. It did not help that I was not seeing much if anything of the other side of the coin from the regulars. You can't keep problems from me, that is my job.
I got made at ur post "STOP THIS BULLSHIT" coz it portrayed ur wrong impression, and im not the only oone who understood that...i talked to several EMers and they had the same impression...So thats why i got upset, coz instead of reprimanding the coadmin in public like u did...(maybe it wasnt ur intention to do that .....but ur looking at ur post from the perspective of someone who doesnt know whats happeneing, but we look at it from the perspective of ppl who have lived thru it) it sounded like its a reprimand and telling us that we dont have the control over things..... coz there wasnt any talk about kicking for cheating without proof and there wasnt any abuse of power...it was for misconduct observed from players on the server.... Thats why i said u should have spoken to us in private about it then post the rules and explain what should happen or not happen like u did now for the others! That way at least u would have known what exactly was going on!
I don't understand where you are coming from in response to my "STOP THE BULLSHIT" post. The first thing I say in that post is that I don't know the full story, but from what I read in the forums the EM people were making asses of themselves, regardless of what any UN players may have done. This is true. I saw things getting out of hand, so I posted straightforward simple rules designed to eliminate problems on either side of the table. As for reprimanding the co-admins in that post, that is totally off base. I was simply letting everyone know what to expect on the server, and showing my dissapointment for the childish posts from regular EM players I had been seeing in the forums. There was nothing to talk to the co-admins in private about, since everything in the post was intended for the community to read. I simply saw things falling apart and stepped in quickly to help put a stop to whatever was going on. Maybe you should read the post over again, because I have read it several times since you seemed to get so upset over it, and I do not see anything hostile or reprimanding about it, other than about the posting on the forums.
As for the mistakes that ive done, maybe ur right Iso...but there is something that u dont know. By the time that u got the chance to finally do the vote for coadmins and to actually tell us that we became ones, i had only 10 days left for my phd thesis defense..Now im sorry but that was more important to me than anything else ...i tried to be on EM but i was extreemly busy...and even the breif moments when i was i didnt pay much attention coz i wanted just to discharge part of my stress to be able to work more...so maybe that is what u got as too lax with them ...but after i finished that and actually on the same day of my thesis defense..i set out the rules that i posted in panda post "pfffft....Grrrr..." and when i did enforce the rules...he called me unfair and even manipulated his post to make look as if im the one who kicked him that time and not miri then he admitted that it wasnt me!!!
I don't expect anyone to dedicate their lives to being admins. All you have to do is keep an eye out for rogue players and deal with them while you are playing on the server. That is why I set up two co-admin positions. No, I did not take your not dedicating time to the server as being lax at all. What I took as lax was when you let them keep getting away with unacceptable behaviour, even after warning them. If you don't enforce what you say, you loose all respect and things get out of control fast. The thing that really dissapointed me was when you warned them, then you didn't enforce it, then you warned them again later and said that the last time you weren't serious, this time you were??? That sends some pretty unclear signals. Also when you let them walk all over you when you were trying to warn everyone to stop talking about cheating, with Fig acting childish as well. That kind of situation needs to have a firm hand put on it right away. These are simply bad decisions that can cause serious problems. This is my only reprimand to you as co-admin. It just wasn't handled properly. I'm saying these things with no ill feelings or hostility, I'm just letting you know how I feel about what I saw so we aren't unclear about what I'm talking about. I hope you don't take what I have said badly, I certainly don't mean it that way.
I hope you continue to play on the server, you are a part of the community. As for the problems, I have been monitoring the server much more closely and I will be handling certain "problems" personally along with mirielle's help to get things back to the normal, AFZ.
